A full scale city
sightseeing tour including all the important historical items,
visiting the Old Town in Gdansk.
In Oliwa, the part of Gdansk, there is a famous Cathedral of
14th century with splendid organ. The whole year the organ
concerts take place here and in summer there is a Festival of
the Organ Music.
Sopot is a bathing resort and spa, famous since the 19th
century. Napoleon's former doctor, Jean Haffner erected baths
here in 1823. Soon, Sopot became a popular venue for relaxation.
Forest Opera, situated among wooden hills is a big attraction of
Sopot. Next to Sopot is Gdynia, a modern harbour, base for the
merchant and fishing fleet and seat of the Maritime Academy.
Sopot together with Gdansk and the port city Gdynia forms a
municipal agglomeration inhabited by almost 800 000 people and
called the "Tri-City". It stretches for over 18 miles (30 km)
along the Bay of Gdansk.
